The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Well, it has been quite a hectic month and a half. Some big things happened in my life in a very short amount of time, some good, some horrible. I figured it was time I got you all caught up with what's been going on. Let's start with the ugly.

As many of you know at the beginning of last month my studio was broken into. Everything I used to function as a successful business was taken, both of my cameras, all of my lenses, flash equipment, memory cards, a very important hard drive containing 3 years worth of work, and so much more. It was devastating. The absolute worst part was the feeling I was left with after finding the mess of the break in. I felt so violated, hurt, lost, and confused on how to move forward. I had lost all comfort in my studio and was terrified to walk into it by myself. The first thing I knew was that I needed to get out. That was the end of that space for me and it was time to move on to a location where I felt safe. Explaining the way I felt was nearly impossible and a lot of people didn't understand. The next thing I needed to do was go out and buy a new camera so I could get back to work. I bought the bare necessities and continued on as best as I could in the situation. I am so grateful to the clients that were understanding with me and  flexible with the circumstances. From then on in was an emotional rollercoaster going through the process of the case. I went through all of the stages of grief, but anger was the biggest one for me. How could someone do such a thing. But I moved on to acceptance, I accepted that this person is sick, they needed help. I accepted that other than the 3 items of ours that he pawned, we wouldn't be getting anything back. It was gone for good and that was that. I have continued to get back to normal and do my best not to dwell on the past. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and that sometimes you have to have really bad things happen to remind you of the really good things that are still present in life.

And here is where I lead into the good, the really really good. In February my husband Bryce and I found out that we are expecting! I have always wanted to be a mom, always. I am so incredibly excited for it to actually be happening and I love our little peanut so much already. Baby Jorgenson is expected to arrive in October. This baby is the sunshine after the storm and I am so grateful God has blessed us with this little one. On another positive note, Taylor Jane Photography has a big move happening. But shhhh it's still a secret! You guys will have to stay tuned to see whats coming. I promise its worth the wait! Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has stood buy me through all of this. I have such amazing friends and family and an amazingly positive group of people supporting TJP. Below is our announcement featuring our sweet little fur babies. I hope you guys enjoy!

p.s. If you read all the way through this novel you are awesome.

Vegas Baby!-Day 1

Vegas Baby!-Day 1

We safety arrived in Vegas yesterday afternoon. Some of you know I am here to photograph the wedding of some amazing friends of mine. I am so incredibly excited and honored to have been chosen for something so special. I will get into more details on the lovely couple over the next couple of days, however, I have some business to take care of first! The 52 week photo challenge! I got a little behind preparing for the trip but wasn't too upset knowing I was going to be taking hundreds of photos while I was here. So, here are the previous two weeks challenges:

Week 4:High Angle

Week 5:Out Of Focus

Angi+Zeb-Maternity

Angi+Zeb-Maternity

The decision to start off the session blog posts with Angi and Zeb's maternity session was an easy one. I mean just look at them! This gorgeous couple is expecting baby #1 (aside from their fur baby) in just about a month and I am absolutely thrilled they chose me to document their maternity and newborn photos! Their session was filled with giggles, puppy kisses, and so much love! Take a look for yourself!

The Beginning of Something Wonderful

We all know a first blog post can be rough and boring, hardly anyone sees it, you have to talk about yourself which translates into blah blah and some yada yada yada, but you have to start somewhere right? Right! Well for the small handful of people who will actually see this, let me ramble on with the blah blah blahs. Ready?!

I’m Taylor, some of my close friends and family call me Tay, Tator, crazy, and I often reply to “Hey You!” I’m a photographer located in Fargo that specializes in newborn, milestone, family, and senior photography. It all started way back in high school when I “borrowed” my mom’s Nikon camera for my photography class and well, she never got it back. It’s been picture-taking ever since! I’m a creative brained, arts and crafter, harry potter addict, dog obsessed, 25 year old and my saint of a husband, Bryce, puts up with all of it. When we’re not working you can typically find us enjoying lake time, hanging at a brewery, netflixing, or being anywhere with friends and family.

Well enough of that! Let’s move on to the point of this whole blog thing. Not only will you get to see highlights of client galleries, or yourself if you play your cards right ;) but this will also be a place for information, education, random inspiration, some “featured friends” and more! So here’s the point when I ask YOU for something, if you have anything you want to learn about, whether it’s how to prepare for sessions, what to wear, why is the sky blue, you name it (photography related or not) let me know! The more input you give the more you will get to read about things that actually interest you. Also if you know anyone who you think could benefit from being featured on the Taylor Jane Photography blog send me their information and maybe we can whip up some magic! I can’t wait to share so many things with all of you beautiful people!

Welcome!
